Today is my last day in PA... It is a very bittersweet thing for me because I'm so excited to go back to Utah and see my family and start school again, but I'm so sad to leave Matt and be away from him for two weeks. That is such a long time! Anyway, it has been a good experience for us, and we have learned a lot from it. Being here has made us realize how much we really love living in Utah, being close to our family and friends. It has been a great adventure for us though, and I'm just excited to see what our next adventure will be!

Pioneer Day
We decided we needed to take a little trip to the D.C. temple on Saturday night, so we drove down there only to find that the temple was closed! I was SO SO SAD! I guess it is a lesson to always check if it's open before you actually go... Anyway, the visitor's center was open so we went inside and found out that a Pioneer Program was going on at just the time we were there. It was a bunch of people and kids singing and dancing and playing instruments, dressed up as pioneers. It was pretty cute, especially the little kids playing their fiddles, so our trip to D.C. wasn't completely wasted. Plus, we got to celebrate Pioneer Day on the east coast! We also had to take a little detour on the way home to stop at the Cheesecake Factory for a little dessert. It was a fun night for us, started out a little depressing but ended up being pretty great!
One more time...
Well, we moved AGAIN! We are back in Lancaster now, which is fine with me because I love it here. It is always a bit of a pain packing and unpacking all our stuff, (this will be the fourth time for us unpacking in just the past two months) but it is just another adventure for us. I enjoy working in the Lancaster office more than the other office I was in so it's a good change for me. Luckily, the company kept our apartment here for us, so we had a place all ready to move into when we got here. Hopefully we'll be able to stay here for the rest of the summer. The next place we get to move to is back to Utah :)

This video made me a little homesick to be honest. I love Southern Utah!

The Poconos
The view from our house
Our house in the Poconos
We moved again! We are still in Pennsylvania, but Matt's company moved us a couple hours north of where we were before. We are now living in the Pocono mountains... I miss Lancaster, but I guess this is just one more place for us to see and one more adventure for us. I never thought I'd be able to say I'd lived in the Poconos! It is really green and so pretty! Sometimes I don't have the best attitude about summer sales (just ask Matt) and I complain about being so far from home and my family, but when it comes down to it I feel so blessed to be here and I'm so grateful that I get to see all these new places and have these experiences.
A few days with my family!
Kayla hugging Matt Lauer :)My parents and sister came to visit us for a few days! The day they got here we went on an Amish buggy ride and to a smorgasbord for dinner (so good!). The next day we went to New York City. My sister has always said that she wants to live there, but she changed her mind pretty quick once she realized how crowded of a place it really is! I guess it's not quite the glamorous place that the movies make it out to be...
The day after our NYC trip we were all pretty exhausted and didn't want to do a whole lot, so we hung out at an outlet mall and did some shopping. Their last day here we went to Philadelphia and saw some historical sights, and of course, ate philly cheesesteak sandwiches :) It was so fun spending time with them, and I wish they could've stayed longer!
Our Anniversary
The Lion King was amazing!
I can't believe we have been married for a whole year! For our anniversary, Matt surprised me with a trip to New York City. He got us a hotel in Times Square and tickets for The Lion King on Broadway. It was so much fun! I couldn't have picked a better husband!
Weekend in DC
We took a little trip to Washington, DC for Matt's birthday. We stopped at the temple on Saturday night. It is so pretty and it's huge! I loved it! We spent the next day walking around DC seeing the sights. We were both so tired of walking by the time we were done, but it was a lot of fun. Then we went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner. YUM :)
We love Lancaster!
It's fun to to see the buggies going down the road with the cars!
Matt is doing a summer sales program, going door to door selling security systems. Last year we did the same thing in Virginia Beach and Phoenix. It has been fun for us to travel and see some new places. This summer we are living in Lancaster, PA. It is such a nice town with a lot of history and a lot of Amish people! I have always been fascinated by the Amish lifestyle, but had never actually seen it until now. I love how simply they live. It isn't that they are against modern technology or anything like that, they just want to protect themselves from the world around them, which I think is great! Sometimes I wish I could live like they do, then again I'm not sure I could do without all my modern conveniences...
Our First Year
Matt and I were married on June 4, 2010 in the St. George LDS temple. In the past year we have lived in four different states: Virginia, Arizona, Utah, and now we're in Pennsylvania! Maybe someday we will settle down and live somewhere for more than a few months at a time... We have definitely had some adventures together, and I have loved every minute of being with my best friend!
